The Soap Factory etc
September 3rd, 2010
When I went home to do my MRI, I suddenly had this itch to get myself something nice. As they say, work hard, play hard and I couldn’t have thought of any other way but buying Lush soap for myself. In my head, I could imagine passing by the store and how it smelled so good and so intoxicating. So I told my sister and upon hearing this, she told me to go to SM The Block.
Hi ho hi ho, we went down to the mall. Going around like loons, we couldn’t find any Lush! Then we bumped into this timid store with racks of aromatic soapy smells and colorful displays. The smell wasn’t too thick nor was it too flowery. It was just right. It was like beeking in a jungle after going through the mud and the shrubs. That was when we discovered The Soap Factory etc.
The Soap Factory etc is an all Filipino business put up by 5 women who aim to have bath and body products made of all natural ingredients at the best quality and at an affordable price. It is such a good idea considering that the Philippines has a lot of natural resources that are really good for the skin. This is a fact that a lot of us urban monkeys tend to overlook or, maybe, we are just too busy to extract them for ourselves.

I really enjoyed my visit to The Soap Factory etc store. The ambiance was clean and simple. All soaps are neatly displayed on very homey dark wood racks. Some buckets here and there and not even a gargantuan one can be found! I was quite glad considering I tend to knock things over.
After watching a couple of Peter Perfect episodes, I’ve learned to love the whole concept of showing the workspace. Taking this into consideration, I must say The Soap Factory etc successfully integrated this in their store by putting their workspace in full view behind glass panels and successfully displaying their tools and ingredients on their shelves.
What made me more excited about the store was not only how balanced the smell and oiliness of the soap is but also the way they presented their product. They did not have them in plain bricks alone. They were creative enough to make soaps in cupcake, cake, and donut forms!
For a mere Php 120 + ,the soap lasting a good 3 weeks, it’s a good buy. Not only that, it’s a good move to support Filipino businesses out there.
Spread the word!

They also stole the logo from this site for their products: http://soapsilly.com
